Hey, everybody. Today, it’s time for another unboxing video. I ran out of hard drive space. So, we’re going to open this up. I’ve got this box here. Amazon came today, and we’re going to open this up and see what I bought. All right. Here we go. This is what we’ve got right here. That’s what we’ve got, right there. We’ve got … I don’t know if it’s La-See, or it’s Lay-Cee, but it is a 4-terabyte rugged mini hard drive.
Now, this is the unboxing portion, and I’ve gotta first, of course, in order to tell you what I think about it or what I like about it. I found out about this particular hard drive from watching Think Media. Sean Cannell over there just does an amazing job with gear. I’ve bought some of the things that he’s recommended before and been very pleased.
Here we go. Let’s see what all came with this. We’ve got the hard drive itself, which I don’t know if you can tell from my office, but I love the color orange. So, the orange color was definitely a plus. We have a cable here to plug it into the computer, I’m assuming.
Yeah, I guess. It’s got some setup instructions.
I bought a kit where it has this little case with it, too. Let’s see how this all fits together. We’ll find out.
It looks like the cord can slide right inside the case right there, and the hard drive itself can slide right into there. Well, that’s a pretty compact nice little deal there.
Okay. I like it so far.
Next up, I’m going to get to using it because I haven’t been able to edit video for two days since I didn’t have enough hard drive space. Here we go. In the next portion, I’ll tell you what I think of it.
I’m back. Now, it’s been a few months since I bought the LaCie external hard drive. I have to tell you that it has been phenomenal as far as the transfer speeds. Now, even if you don’t have that USB 3.0 or that Thunderbolt connection, it has both of those cords, so you could connect it with a USB. I’ve experimented with it quite a bit. There’s a lot of times I’ve taken items from one hard drive to the next, and I’ve seen a huge difference with that USB 3.0. so, if your computer is equipped with that, this is really a great solution.
I’ve found that now I edit right on the hard drive. So, when I’m doing videos, I upload my footage onto this external hard drive, and then I just edit straight from that hard drive. I don’t even put anything onto my own computer. I have to say that my editing speeds have gotten a lot faster because of that. I would highly recommend … If you’re looking to get into video, I can tell you, you’re going to fill up a computer pretty quick. I’ve also used other hard drives. If they’re not big enough … This one happens to be a 4-terabyte. I know they all have them in a 2-terabyte. I think there’s a 1-terabyte available as well in this hard drive. But I’m loving the 4-terabyte. I’ve put a lot of footage on here, and it has been really convenient.
I would highly recommend using the Lay-Cee or LaCie … Probably LaCie would probably make more sense because I think it’s French. But I highly recommend this hard drive, and you can find it in the description. Wherever I’m posting this video, there’ll be a link where you can pick one up for yourself. But I love sharing these gear tips and tricks and tools that I love to use, and I hope this helps you.
Thank you so much for watching. If you like it, feel free to give this a thumbs up, share this video, subscribe to my YouTube Channel, all of those things. I’ll see you in another video.
