The 4-Hour Workweek by Timothy Ferriss

The biggest question I asked myself when I finished this book was, “Why haven’t I read this sooner?”  And that’s what I’m advising everyone to do.  Stop reading this post right now and head to your local bookstore or favorite online bookseller and buy a copy today.  I’ll wait.

Have you bought the book yet? Still need convincing?

The 4-hour Workweek is a concept to free yourself from the 9-5 or 80-hour workweeks, whichever applies to your case.  It’s part efficiency and part thinking differently.  It is amazing how much time we waste and call it working when it’s just busying ourselves.  Like email.  So many hours wasted on email.  Tim presents a method to alleviate our email burden.  He spends one hour a week with email.  I’m not sure I can get that low, but it’s a great goal.

How many of us really want to delay happiness and adventure until we’re 65-70 years old and retire (if we can even afford to then)?  Why not take mini-retirements throughout our lives?  How about getting paid while we’re doing it?  Tim’s book is a guide to show the way.  And no, it’s not scammy crap like get-rich-quick schemes.

One of the techniques is to create your own online store to generate income.  I’m very excited about the fact that many of the things you learn here at EcommCoach.com apply directly to The 4-Hour Workweek lifestyle.  Here we focus on Ecommerce and Digital Marketing–both of which are essential to online entrepreneurs.

Whether you are an entrepreneur or you’re working in a corporate job, Tim offers solutions for increasing efficiency and creating a life for yourself that allows for travel and/or spending more time with family.  I know I will be implementing many of his techniques and you may be seeing a blog post that I write from Europe next year.
